(1873, Miraliwala, provincia de Punjab, India–17 oct. 1906, Tehri, Provincias Unidas de Agra y Oudh).

Líder religioso hindú. Era un profesor de matemáticas antes de que un encuentro con Vivekananda intensificara su deseo de dedicarse a la vida religiosa. En 1901, dejó a su esposa e hijos y se retiró en los Himalaya. Más tarde, viajó a Japón y EE.UU. Se hizo famoso por su forma poética de interpretar el vedanta y su enfoque jovial del aprendizaje religioso como medio de liberación individual. Se ahogó en el Ganges.
